SMM, Partner of Highwood, introduced this seminar on Pension Reform and the introduction of NEST (National Employment Savings Trust) and commented: "The NEST pension scheme is part of wider pension reforms to be introduced from October 2012, which all employers and their advisers need to be aware of". Guest speaker Jamie Clark, Business Development Manager at Scottish Life is a self-confessed pensions geek with more than 20 years’ experience in the pensions industry working for various providers. Since joining Scottish Life in April 1998, Jamie has continued to deliver pensions training and workshops on a range of subjects to adviser firms and networks. As part of his work analysing and interpreting the A-Day changes, he has presented at various Scottish Life roadshows on the technical aspects of simplification and its impact on financial advisers and their clients.

February 2010 - EFRBS and QROPS 30 representatives from accounting and consulting firms attended a seminar on EFRBS (Employer Funded Retirement Benefit Schemes) and QROPS (Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme). Guest speakers Sally Pattie, of Bourse Group (UK) and John King CTA, an expert in tax planning for individuals and for businesses, explained how these options can help clients to plan accordingly.
